Hyde Park Celebration

Thursday night we went to the Ogden Pioneer Days Rodeo. It is our favorite rodeo, and we had a blast! The funniest part of the night is every time somebody walked by with a cup full of beer Cooper would point to it and say "Drink".  We would just laugh and try to get him to drink his water. Coop's favorite part were the motorcycle riders at the end. That kid LOVES "vrrmm-vrrrmm's" (We will ask him to say motorcycle and he will respond with that).

This past weekend was the Hyde Park celebration. The fireworks were on Friday night.
Saturday morning I ran the 5K and beat my time goal!
The parade was next. Coop was a little slow picking up the candy, but he still got plenty! A few times he even threw it back out because he was trying to copy those who were tossing the candy from the parade.

Coop just chillin' eating his sandwich.
Jake and his dad Alan rode in the cycle cross race and both did awesome!

Coop loves his bike and wanted to ride with the big boys too! He's getting pretty good at it!

Whitepine Hike

On the 4th of July we decided to hike up to Whitepine Lake with Jake's parents. It is one of our favorite hikes and traditions and this was Coop's first time.  Cooper was such a big help getting the goats ready to pack. He LOVES animals and LOVES helping! (I sure hope the helping part never changes!)

Cooper even rode Hercules for a little bit of the way...with Dad's help of course!
Gotta love this cheese face!
Stopping for a snack break at the lake!
Coop wasn't too stoked about riding in the pack because he thought he wanted to walk the whole way.  7 1/2 miles is a little too far to walk for a little guy with such short legs and flimsy sandals on, he just didn't realize that! At least we got a half smile out of him here.

The last half of the hike Coop was just too pooped and fell asleep on Jake's shoulder.

Back at Tony Grove we ate our lunches.  Coop found this spot on the sidewalk where he decided he wanted to eat his sandwich.

Later that night we went to the Balls' BBQ and had fun visiting with everyone there. We got to see the Logan fireworks the night before, although shame on me for not getting any pictures. Coop loved the fireworks and playing with his cousins!

Summer Traditions

Jake has a tradition that every summer he grows a mullet.  I hate the tradition, but he loves it, so I let it slide. I only usually let him keep the mullet for about a week, and then it has to go.

Well this summer, he thought it would be fun to get Cooper in on the action. The first day they were home together and I went to work I came home to a surprise.
A mullet.
And a duck tail.

Cute hair cut from the front, not so much from the back!
Jake's slogan: "Business in the front, party in the back".
Party they do while mom is gone!

Lagoon

June 23 was my work Lagoon day.  The first ride we went on was the Merry Go Round.  Cooper wasn't so sure what to think, but he was ok because I was right there next to him.
Then we met up with Jake's brother, Jeff, and his family.  I LOVE that their Lagoon Day is the same day as ours! Eden and Wes even came too, which made things that much better!
Carter took Cooper on the boats. As you can tell, he was not liking the fact that we couldn't be there with him.  Carter was so cute with him putting his arm around him and trying to show him all the cool stuff, but no matter what he did Cooper just wanted to get out.
Next we tried the helicopter with Aubrey and Carter. As you can tell, this didn't go much better! He loved to watch the helicopters, he just didn't want to be inside it!

He had a blast though when he wasn't being forced into doing things without mom and dad. I guess we have a mommy and daddy's boy on our hands.
We tried to stay cool any way we could!
We had to go on the train twice, because it was Cooper's favorite ride! This is his new "Cheese" face!
We had such a fun time! Hopefully next time Cooper will be a little more brave!

5 Generations

Last week we were able to get together with my Mom, Grandpa Halversen, and Great-Grandma Halversen for a 5 generation picture....Finally! Coop never is too stoked about having to sit still for a picture, but they turned out pretty good considering!
We feel so extremely blessed to be part of such amazing posterity!
