A Much Needed Break!

This last Thursday Jake and I finally had a day off! We really needed a day to play before we went insane! We started the day off with Jake's famous chocolate-chip pancakes. Then we headed down to Salt Lake. Our first stop was the temple. I had never been through a session there and Jake had only been once before his mission. It was amazing! It is soooo beautiful inside. We also had the opportunity to be the witness couple. After the session was over we met up with Connor, Jake's little brother, who had just been hanging out waiting for us.

We then drove down to American Fork to Dustbuster Kennels. This is where Jake is going to get his puppy from when he graduates. He wanted to go check out the guy's place and take a look at a few of his current puppies. They were adorable! Although Jake is obsessed with puppies and wants one so bad right now, he has been very good to be patient while we finish school.
After seeing the puppies we went to Cabella's. Jake had saved all of his birthday money to take down and buy him some boots that he has wanted since before his mission. We went in, only to discover they didn't have the ones he wanted. We went up to the front to special order them. Not only were we glad we didn't have to pay shipping for them, but we also were super stoked when they rang up as $109.00 instead of $159.00! We also had a $10 coupon!!!
Our next stop was The Mayan Restaurant. None of us had been there for a few years so we thought it would be fun. The food was delicious, but we were a little disappointed by the divers....there was only one and he only dove like 4 times!

Oh well, we still had a great time. The one bad part was traffic on the way home, but we eventually made it, and we even made it in time for Jake to go play at our ward softball game!

We did it!

Well, we did it. We finally decided to make ourselves a blog. I guess we had to you know, because "everyone is doing it"! Jake's real reason for it is so he can practice so when he gets his own dog and starts his own dog kennel he can create a cool blog. I think the most amazing part about it is that we were actually able to figure it out! That's pretty impressive for us! I think it should be a fun thing for us to do together and to help us keep our friends and family updated on what is going on in our lives!
