Glenwood Springs, CO

This past weekend Jake and I took a trip to Colorado with our friends Jeremy and Stacy to Glenwood Springs. Jake's parents and his sister, Eden, took Coop for the weekend so we could get away.  We can't thank them enough for taking such good care of our little man. This was the longest we've ever been away (3 days). It was hard and we missed him like crazy, but we had a BLAST, and he enjoyed being spoiled!
We left at 4 AM Friday. Once we got to Glenwood Springs we rode the tram up the mountain to Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. We picked a good day to go and the park wasn't busy at all.
The BEST part of the park.....This ride swings over the canyon below....1300 feet above the Colorado River. AMAZING!
We took a tour through the caverns to cool off.
 Relaxed and enjoyed the view.

And had some good quality time with friends.

Jeremy, Stacy and I watched the 4-D movie while Jake laid in the back trying to recover from going on the swing one too many times.
Jake and Jeremy tried to crawl though this box that mimics crawling through a cave.  I was fine just posing for a picture in it.
Riding the tram down at the end of the day.
 Seriously, it's a gorgeous town!
The next day Jake and I went on a bike ride up Red Mountain.
Here's the view from the top. This is actually where the para-gliders fly from. Sooo much fun!
That night we went to Glenwood hot springs pool to relax. You can't really tell by the picture, but the pool is like a city block long! Supposedly the  hot springs dump 3 1/2 million gallons of water into the pool everyday!
Our last day here we went on a hike to Hanging Lake.
One of the prettiest hikes we've ever been on.

Just past the lake is Spouting Rock.

The view of the Lake from above.
Thanks to Jeremy and Stacy for helping us to have such a fun vacation! If you are looking for a weekend getaway we would totally recommend this place!
It feels good to be back home though!

Summer is here!

Cooper has had so much fun this past spring seeing all of Grandpa Balls' baby chicks, goats and bunnies.
This is my old-school roller blade that Cooper has discovered is fun to drive around.
Jake had a birthday on May 14...28 years old! We celebrated by going out to dinner with our families! So glad we have a day to celebrate how AWESOME he is!
We took Cooper to the HAFB museum. He LOVES airplanes and helicopters!

Cooper loves to find our biking gloves or Grandpa's work gloves and put them on to ride his bike around.

Jake's family came over to watch the Thunderbirds at the HAFB airshow from our backyard. This is Cooper and Jake with his brothers and Dad.
It was a little chilly and rainy unfortunately!

Jake's parents have an old trike.  Cooper loves to try to copy all the tricks Jake does and he even loves to go for rides in the basket!

Jake and I also had our 5 year anniversary on May 24! CRAZY how fast times flies! It's been the BEST 5 years ever though and I love him more than ever! Don't know how I got so lucky....seriously, he's the best husband ever.

The big news is that Jake finished up with teaching for the summer! It was a tough first year for him and we are excited to have it behind him. He enjoys teaching and he's great at what he does, but they say the first year is the hardest. He will be working at the Bike Shoppe a few days a week this summer and will get to stay home with Cooper on the days I work. Cooper is going to LOVE having more time with his Dad!
We are so excited to have summer here and hopefully have more time to hang out and play! We're looking forward to all our summer time adventures!
