Friday night Susan and Grandma Jensen made their famous spaghetti dinner for all the Bike Shoppe boys to carb load for the race. Thanks for all your hard work in giving us such a great meal!!!
Jake starting out on the 206 mile journey.
He was ready with his GAMEFACE!!! Alot of training had gone into this day for these guys!
He had lots of great support and cheerleaders!
Grandpa Jensen even gave up the opening day of this once-in-a-lifetime moose hunt...what a sacrifice!!!
Unfortunately, Jake's stomach didn't cooperate again this year. He pushed through the pain and vomiting for 100 miles, but his body wasn't going to allow another 100. I felt so helpless and wanted to do anything to help him. Jake is going to talk to a sports nutritionist and a dr. to see if we can beat what it is that is holding him back. He was very frustrated, but I want him to know how proud I am of him. He is so strong and has a will to push forward that I will never have. I LOVE this boy with all my heart and am so grateful for the influence he is in my life. Good work Bebe!
This will definitely be a Lotoja we don't forget. At about 12:20 in the morning the firealarm went off at the hotel. It took the fire department a long half an hour to get there. We were outside in the miserable cold until about 2:00 am. Poor Jake was exhausted and just wanted to sleep!!!
Luckily, we finally got to sleep and recovered for the morning!
Lotoja has become a family afair and quite the memorable event. We were able to cheer Mike on at the finish line this year...Way to go MIKE!!!! Congrats on the accomplishment!
We LOVE the Bike Shoppe! They've been so good to Jake and we appreciate their friendships.

How is Mike related to you? Or is he? He was my across-the-street neighbor growing up and I babysat his kids for years and years.
